Being in business for 27 years is reason enough to be impressed with
the Great Wall Chinese Cuisine. Add to that free delivery of great
food, and itís time to put this restaurant on speed dial.

    Not only is the Great Wall, at 315 E. North St. in Rapid City, the
oldest Chinese restaurant in town, it is the only one that delivers
food. This free service for food orders of $15 or more is about 10
years old and is so popular that it comprises about 50 percent of Great
Wallís business, according to Manager Martin Yeung. Customers can place
their orders online or call them in.

    Yeung describes his familyís restaurant as casual- to fine-dining of
authentic Chinese cuisine. There is no buffet. Although he says the
business crowd can be in an out for lunch in about a half hour, he
likes to emphasize dining and service at the Great Wall Chinese
Restaurant.

    The restaurant offers a wide-ranging menu priced from $1.95 for
individual egg rolls to a $71.70 family dinner for six people.  Most
main entrees are between $8.50 and $10.50. The most popular dishes are
beef with broccoli, sesame chicken, generalís chicken, and sweet and
sour chicken.

    Serving lunch and dinner, the Great Wall opens at 11 a.m. seven days a
week and closes at 9:30 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays; and closes at
10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, its busiest days. Delivery hours are
between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for lunch and between 5-9 p.m. for dinner.

    A special combination lunch menu is offered from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and
includes the main entrÈe with fried rice and a choice of one of the
following: egg roll, crab Rangoon or fried chicken wings. All
combination lunch items are priced at either $6.55 or $6.95.

    The all-day menu is offered from 11 a.m. until close and features
appetizers, soups, family dinners, house specialties, pork, beef,
chicken combinations, seafood. Among lighter menu items are Moo-Shi,
vegetables, chow mein, lo mein, egg foo yung and fried rice. Menu items
contain no MSG.
